The Framework · Roadmap

What's built,
and what's next

DEFEND is a working draft, developed carefully rather than quickly. Here's an honest picture of where it stands today.

Where things stand

16 Digital Life Domains
34 Capabilities
279 Controls
77 Guidance Modules

Current status: working draft. The framework's architecture is stable internally, but it has not yet gone through the review needed for a full public release. Nothing here should be read as a finished product, a certification, or an operational guarantee — the same honesty that runs through the rest of this site applies here too.

What's built so far

  • The constitutional foundation — outcomes, principles, and the six pillars
  • The engineering model connecting Domains, Capabilities, and Controls
  • The starter journey for email, worked through all six pillars
  • A working draft of the plain-language framework overview

What's coming next

  • Expanding Guidance modules across more Digital Life Domains
  • Building out self-assessment support so you can check your own progress
  • Widening the starter-journey pattern beyond email to other domains
  • A formal public release, once the framework clears its own internal review

This list will change as priorities shift — it's a direction, not a promise with dates attached.

In the meantime

The framework is usable today

A working draft doesn't mean it can't help you right now — start with the one account that protects the most others.
